The SmartPond Filters have defined a new standard in filtration! This new standard in professional belt filters, for the best in mechanical filtration, with virtually no maintenance. The SmartPond filters use an industrial quality filter membrane on a roll. This makes it possible to remove waste particles up to 20 microns.

How it Works.

The water enters the filter through a gravity or pump fed construction. The water will run through the membrane (1) where waste particles, parasites, eggs, algae, plant remains, fish waste etc, will be collected. On the membrane arises a so called 'filter cake' (accumulation of waste) which helps to improve the filtration even further. During the increase in this 'filter cake' process, less water can pass through the membrane which increases the water level in the filter. The large hydrostatic pressure which forces the water through the already polluted membrane ensure that the SmartPond filter can sieve waste particles up to 20 microns. When the maximum water level has been reached, the level indicator (7) will activate the conveyor-belt (5) underneath the membrane and the polluted membrane will be moved to the designated collection area(6). A slightly increasing 30 degree angle guarantees that the waste remains on the membrane and is not flushed away by the water. A new part of the membrane is transported from the roll (4) which enables it to let the optimal filtered water through. As the water falls through the membrane (2) into the pump/bio-chamber (3), it will also be enriched with oxygen. The water enters the lower pump/bio-chamber from where the water can go back to the pond or to the next biological filter. Because of the falling water bio rings can be moved without the use of an extra air pump. In addition, because of the thorough cleaning process performed by the membrane the bio chamber does not require cleaning maintenance.

The SmartPond filter reduces the maintenance of your pond enormously and gives you an optimal water quality! As a result of this you can make great savings on the use of medication, water treatment suppliments, large water changes and electricity.

The Usage of membrane rolls is highly dependant on factors like pond size, fish load, daily amount of food etc. An average usage for Koi ponds of 40,000 litres with 20 large Koi which get high protein food is between 3 and 7 rolls a year.
