Hikari Sturgeon Food
Hikari Sturgeon food is a scientifically developed, daily diet for all varieties of Sturgeon. Hikari Sturgeon provides balanced nutrition with optimum levels of vitamins and minerals to meet the specific nutritional requirements of your sturgeon.
Hikari Sturgeon containins premium natural ingredients like fish and krill meal to ensure excellent palatability and good balanced growth. Hikari Sturgeon is a sinking pellet that will not cloud or stain the water.
Hikari have verified through laboratory testing the most suitable pellet sizes for Sturgeons kept in ponds;
- Small size (2.0 to 2.3mm) - Length Of Sturgeon 15cm or longer
- Medium size (4.0 to 4.3mm) - Length Of Sturgeon 35cm or Longer
Feed Hikari Sturgeon 2 to 4 times daily the amount your Sturgeon will completely consume within a few minutes. Consistent growth rates can be acheived by frequent feeding with small amounts.
Regularly monitor the condition of your pond and fish, adjusting the amount and frequency of feedings based on the water condition, number and size of fish and their activity level.
Unlike many other pond fish Sturgeon remain active during the colder winter months and require feeding during this time to avoid starvation. It is advisable to feed a small amount of food several times a week during Winter.
Sturgeon may resist new types of food when changing from live foods or other artificial diets. If this should happen, it is important to persevere, as continued use will result in acceptance of the new diet. Care should be taken to avoid over-feeding and always remove any uneaten food remaining after the feeding period to avoid problems with your water quality.

 Medikoi Sturgeon Food
Medikoi Sturgeon is a sinking pellet food that has been formulated specifically for Sturgeon and Sterlets. Medikoi Sturgeon contains only the highest digestible fish proteins, not vegetable proteins such as soya bean meal which are indigestible by Sturgeon.
Medikoi Sturgeon also provides the correct proportions of vitamins, minerals and oils to ensure your Sturgeon receive the best balanced nutritional food available. Other species of fish in your pond will also find Medikoi Sturgeon highly palatable.
Recommended Feeding:
Before feeding your sturgeon ensure the other fish have been fed first, idealy on a floating pellet, so that the sturgeon is not out competed for food.
Spring:
As the water temperatures increase so to will the activity of your Sturgeon and its nutritional requirements. Start introducing a few pellets of Medikoi Sturgeon food only adding more when all the other pellets have been eaten.
Summer:
Your Sturgeon will be feeding heavily and growing the most at this time of year. It is important to introduce enough Medikoi Sturgeon food to the pond so that your Sturgeon can grow and is able to eat enough food before the other fish in the pond. Remember to remove any uneaten food.
Autumn:
Continue feeding as Sturgeon will be building their reserves for the winter, as the temperature drops monitor the amount of food being consumed and gradually reduce only if necessary.
Winter:
Sturgeon will feed down to 4° C, so continue introducing a few pellets even when the other fish in your pond have stopped feeding. Only introduce more pellets when the rest of the pellets have been consumed.
